Security and Privacy Policy

We need your consent to hold the details you are supplying within this site. All the data we gather and hold is managed in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998). Broken Soul Records uses information collected from visitors to this website to improve the information we offer to you and to improve your on-line experience and we take your privacy very seriously.

This privacy policy sets out details of the personal information we collect about you and the ways in which we may use that information.

When do we collect personal information?

We collect personal information from you when you place an order, register your contact details or subscribe to a newsletter.

What may your personal information be used for?

We may use the personal information to:

  • Inform you of new or existing services and products
  • Ask you to rate our service performance
  • Update you with special offers

We will not pass any of your details onto third parties.

You may at any time revoke your permission for us to store your information by emailing Customer Services or calling us on 0191 3840388.

Updating your personal information

As a registered user of our website, you have control over the accuracy of your personal information. If, at any time, you wish to verify, update or amend the personal information you have provided, you can do so by changing your details in the 'Your Account' sections of the site.

Use of cookies

In order for us to understand more about how our site is used and in turn make sure that the site reflects your needs, we may send cookies to your PC. A cookie contains information that allows us to recognise that you have used the site before, but will not contain any other personal data. This function can be switched off within your browser, but will disable your ability to login to our website and to store items in our shopping cart.

When logging in a cookie is created and stays valid for 1 hour, or 1 week if you click the 'remember me' box, from the last time you visit a page. If you leave your PC without logging out, that cookie will stay open for the allotted time and anyone else could view/amend your personal details by visiting the 'Your Account' page. If you are inactive within our site for more than the allotted time, the cookie will time-out and the system will automatically close your login connection.

The Shopping Cart allows you to build up orders at your leisure and this uses cookies in a similar way to the login system, but these cookies are active for 30 days. No personal information is stored in these cookies and if using a shared PC the only data anyone can see, if looking at your cart, is what products you are thinking about ordering.

Third party sites

Our privacy policy does not apply to third party sites that you may access from this website. We recommend you familiarise yourself with the applicable privacy policy before entering any personal information on a third party site.

Changes to the privacy policy

We recognise the importance of privacy to our visitors and intend to remain at the forefront of industry developments in this area. We will keep this policy under review and any changes made from time to time will be posted on this website.
