Release Info:

Following on from the amazing response received from their debut 10' single, “The Present“ (Counterpoint
CRS025), Hastings“ tripped out combo, Drawbar, are back with a double hitter 7" single that will give you
another little taster off their debut album, “Flight Of The Tempest“, scheduled for release this September.

1. Leave That Ol“ Devil Alone- Is a stripped down gospel funk excursion, with just hammond organ, bass, drums and occasional horns stabs driving the groove. Lead vocals by bassist/producer, Simon Ham, are suitably menacing considering the conent (don“t mess with the darkside!!).
Listen out for the spooked breakdown halfway through. Good God almighty!

2. Broken & Battered- is a highly charged slab of cinematic jazz. Fluid upright bass lines and hard jazz
drum rhythms lay down the foundation for the orchestration (haunting strings, flute & muted trumpet)
to create suspense and drama. Sax maestro, Rob Leak, weaves his magic on top as the track builds and cascades to a dramatic finale.
